I am Gabriel Farquhar, and I have a passion for photographing people. I have been interested in the creative process since a very early age. Not unlike most children, as a child I loved to color and draw. However, I never gave it up. In addition, throughout my youth, the community school's art teacher was my next door neighbor and she encouraged the growth of my creativity. Likewise, my parents always provided me with the tools and the support to pursue my interest in art. By the time I reached the seventh grade, I was taking pictures of our family vacations and had primarily directed my passion toward sketching people.

In the ninth grade, I was able to join the Yearbook staff where I got the opportunity to shoot photographs. I also learned how to develop film and print pictures. I was able to continue on the Yearbook staff in this capacity until my graduation in 1993. Consequently, during my senior year I was able to land a job at a local newspaper, developing and printing pictures for the photographers. After high school, I continued to sketch and take photographs.

In 1996, I married my wonderful wife Heather, who became the primary (and generally) willing subject of my photographs and drawings. Ultimately, she has inspired me to take my photography to the next level. I started taking lots of pictures of others- a baby here, a baby there, a family photo, then a wedding. People liked my pictures. With a nudge or two, maybe three from my wife, and I too, decided it was time to take my past-time to the next level.
I am now happily taking pictures and making lasting memories for others. My wife and daughter are still the (generally) willing subject of my pictures, when the need arises. I am Gabriel Farquhar and I have a passion for photographing people and preserving their memories through my work.
